Andrée-Lise Méthot receives the Mayor’s Award and Nanette Sene of Juno Technologies wins the Startup Montréal Award.
MONTREAL, November 23, 2023, more than 320 people gathered last Friday for the 20th edition of the Soirée Startup Montréal, presented by Desjardins, to celebrate Quebec entrepreneurship. Each year, all proceeds from the Soirée Startup Montréal are donated to the next generation of entrepreneurs whose innovations will have a major economic, societal and environmental impact on the city of Montreal.
At this fundraising event, we were fortunate to welcome Pierre Fitzgibbon, Quebec’s Minister of the Economy and Innovation. Thanks to our two honorary co-presidents, Jade Doucet-Martineau (Puzzle Medical Devices) and Simon De Baene (Workleap, formerly GSoft), as well as to our three prizewinners, Andrew Lockhead (Stay22), Etienne Lacroix (Vention) and Julie Poitras-Saulnier (Loop Mission), for their presence and their invaluable testimonials, which inspired more than one entrepreneur!
Our grand evening was punctuated by several highlights: words from the co-presidents, testimonials from past winners, government speeches, the Mayor’s Award, the Startup Montréal Award… and hosted by our new General Manager Richard Chénier.
Andrée-Lise Méthot, founder of Cycle Capital, was presented with the Mayor’s Award by Valérie Plante, Mayor of Montréal.
Following the pitches, Nanette Sene, founder of Juno Technologies, won the hearts of the audience and was presented with the Startup Montréal Prize by Jean-Yves Bourgeois, Senior Vice-President, Business Services, Desjardins Group. Well done to the other five finalists, who presented their companies brilliantly on stage: Laurent Laferrière (Ditch Labs), Brandon Jaunky (GC Lipid Tech), Lara Emond (Iris+Arlo), Pooya Mamaghani (Genuine Taste) and Jonathan Yu (Mythologi).
Under the theme of “Back to the Future”, guests were transported to the past, present and future to discover the impact that the evening and the Bourse Startup Montréal have had, and continue to have.
