Celebrating International Women in Science Day

International Women in Science Day

February 11 marks International Women in Science Day.

This global celebration recognizes the vital contributions of women and girls to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). This important day serves as a reminder of the ongoing need to support, empower, and elevate women in scientific fields worldwide.

Why International Women in Science Day Matters

While women have made significant strides in higher education and research, they continue to be underrepresented in STEM industries. International Women in Science Day highlights these disparities and calls for global efforts to bridge the gender gap in science and technology.

As the United Nations puts it:

“- Despite a skills shortage in most of the technological fields driving the Fourth Industrial Revolution, women still account for only 28% of engineering graduates and 40% of computer science and IT graduates.

  • Women generally receive smaller research grants than their male colleagues, and although they account for 33.3% of all researchers, only 12% of members of national science academies are women.
  • In cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence, only one in five professionals (22%) is a woman.
  • Female researchers tend to have shorter, less well-paid careers. Their work is under-represented in top-level journals and they are often passed over for promotion.”

Juno Technologies: Powered by Women in STEM

At the core of Juno Technologies are two women engineers who believed in breaking barriers. Today, 80% of our team is composed of women from diverse scientific backgrounds, all working together to build cutting-edge solutions and a more inclusive tech industry

We believe in:

  • Empowering women in STEM through mentorship and leadership opportunities
  • Creating an inclusive work culture that values collaboration and diversity
  • Promoting visibility for women’s contributions in science and technology

We’re proud to stand behind the mission of International Women in Science Day every single day—because real progress requires daily commitment, not just annual recognition.

Inspiring the Next Generation

The future of science and technology depends on the diverse perspectives of everyone, especially those who have historically been excluded.

Just a few decades ago, a product like ours would have no market: the stigma around women’s bodies and menstruation was too great. Additionally, tech was a mostly a man dominated field. It is only because of the new wave of women engineers and women in stem that we are able to create something for us by us.

On this International Women in Science Day, we celebrate not only the achievements of women in science today, but also the girls who dream of becoming the scientists, engineers, and innovators of tomorrow.

At Juno Technologies, we’re committed to being part of that journey—by continuing to build a workplace where women thrive, and by championing diversity as a driver of discovery and progress.

Join Us in Celebrating Women in Science

On this International Women in Science Day, let’s honor the countless women across the globe who are shaping the future of science, technology, and innovation. Their courage, expertise, and determination continue to inspire new generations of scientists and researchers. Let’s use this day to spotlight women who are pushing boundaries and shaping our world—while also recommitting ourselves to a more equitable and inclusive future in STEM.
